Severe storm leaves Chicago underwater

The expressways are mostly clear of standing water. The flooding along I-190 towards O'Hare airport forced traffic to a standstill. People were sighted leaving their cars, some with their luggage, to walk the last leg of the journey to make their flights. Another lasting effect? The beaches. The heavy flooding forced the locks in both Chicago and Wilmette to open and dump waste water into Lake Michigan. This means swim bans at 27 beaches in Chicago and even more along the North Shore. And that may disrupt beach-going for the upcoming 4th of July holiday. WBEZ's April Van Buren joins us to talk about the storm's impact. Photo Credit: GreenerCities
