New site aims to alter the way scientific research is funded

When researchers want to investigate a question they traditionally need to get funding from the government, foundations, universities or companies. But a newer model of funding has emerged to provide sort of kickstarters for experiments. One such site is called experiment.com where potential funders can shop around for projects they want to support. Among the current choices is a proposal to look at how female sweat on scrunchies can affect a male’s testosterone level.
