Construction continues on the 606 Trail

Construction is underway to turn nearly three miles of unused rail lines into an elevated Bloomingdale Trail and neighborhood park system. It’s called the 606 Trail after Chicago’s zip code prefix. The Trust for Public Land is working with the city of Chicago and the Chicago Park District on the project. Ellen Ryan, is the Trust's expert on "Creative Placemaking." She joins us to talk about what "creative placemaking" is and how to transform outdoor spaces. Beth White, the Director of the Chicago Region Office of the Trust For Public Land also joins us to talk about the progress on the 606 Trail. (Photo: Flickr/Steven Vance)
