The candidates for Illinois governor made a rare joint appearance, as they sat down next to each other to try to convince the Chicago Tribune editorial board to endorse their campaign. But things turned bitter quickly between incumbent Democrat Pat Quinn and Republican venture capitalist Bruce Rauner. In one heated moment of this editorial board session, Governor Quinn accused Rauner of trying to buy votes against the recent overhaul of state worker pensions.
