SHARE City Council approves $13 minimum wage plan

Mayor Rahm Emanuel called a special meeting of the City Council today to vote on boosting the minimum wage to $13 an hour over the next five years. Aldermen passed the plan 44-5, but it’s already causing some confusion among businesses close to the city’s limits and it could prompt legislators in Springfield to pass their own minimum wage law.
