Crossing California Crosses From the Page to the Stage

SHARE Crossing California Crosses From the Page to the Stage

Lifeline Theater's world premiere production of Crossing California opens this week.

It's a newly adapted play based on the critically-acclaimed novel by Chicago native Adam Langer.

Langer now makes his home in Bloomington, Indiana.

But we caught up him during a recent visit to his old neighborhood to talk about the book and the play it inspired.

Contrary to what you might think, the California in the title of Adam Langer's book refers not to the state but to California Avenue on Chicago's Far North Side.

The world premiere stage adaptation of Adam Langer's novel Crossing California runs through June 24 at the Lifeline Theater in Rogers Park.
