David Isay Shares Stories from StoryCorps

David Isay is the founder of StoryCorps. It consists of little recording booths – some mobile, a couple permanent – where people can come in and draw out their story. The results have been broadcast on public radio nationwide, as well as here on Eight Forty-Eight. Now Isay has compiled some of the funniest, saddest, most surprising and most moving stories in a new book, Listening is an Act of Love. David Isay and Craig Curry joins us to talk about the book, and about the nature of listening. Curry interviewed his mother, Barbara Fuller-Curry, in the StoryCorps booth here in Chicago.

Isay will read from the book tonight at 7 at Anderson's Bookshop in Naperville.
