Raising a child whose brain is wired differently can be daunting, and that goes for kids with a host of conditions. According to the National Institute of Mental Health, about 2 million American children suffer from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, or ADHD. Those kids have a hard time focusing on one task or controlling their behavior. But a Northwestern University graduate student has discovered that people with an ADHD gene may actually do better in certain settings. Daniel Eisenberg recently published his research on a nomadic tribe in Kenya in the journal BMC Evolutionary Biology.  He says traits associated with ADHD, like being able to jump from one task to the next, may benefit nomads.
