Summer has traditionally been sort of a sleepy period for the arts. But that seems to be changing, with more theaters, galleries and concert halls scheduling substantial productions even in the dog days. That's certainly the case for Chicago-area dance this month, according to Eight Forty-Eight's dance critic Lucia Mauro. There are a couple of productions in the works chock full of new dances. In fact, New Dances is the name of one program, set to begin tomorrow from Thodos Dance Chicago.
