SHARE Peculiar Wilderness

This is an excerpt of Nelson Algren's work, Chicago: City on the Make: “...to forge, out of steel and blood-red neon, its own peculiar wilderness.”

Throughout the spring, Northwestern University's Lisa Matuska recorded the stories of the plants and herbs in a tiny medicine garden. The stories that tell how one Native American community can carve out space in its urban setting, and redefine nature in the city.
