Gary, Indiana's, glory years are long past. Steel mill jobs are hard to come by these days and crime is always a challenge to overcome. And, the casino boats, once considered a potential windfall for the city, haven't made much of a difference in the lives of everyday Gary residents.

Now a new problem: Gary is getting less money from taxpayers. Gary, like many cities in Lake County, Indiana, is adjusting to a new formula of collecting property taxes. Chicago Public Radio's Northwest Indiana bureau reporter Michael Puente joins to discuss this issue.
