Jazz Vibraphonist Jason Adasiewicz

SHARE Jazz Vibraphonist Jason Adasiewicz

Fans of Chicago's underground jazz scene know vibraphonist Jason Adasiewicz for his work with Ken Vandermark, Nicole Mitchell and Rob Mazurek. But he's now fronting his own quintet which includes rising-star improvisers like coronetist Josh Berman and alto saxophonist Aram Shelton.
Beginning this Friday, he'll lead this quintet Rolldown in a series of concerts celebrating the release of their new compact disc. Eight Forty Eight's Dan Bindert recently talked with Adasiewicz… who says his artistic journey was a rather unusual yet fortuitous one.

Jason Adasiewicz will lead his Rolldown quintet in a series of CD release performances: Friday at the Charleston, Saturday at the Velvet Lounge, Sunday at the Hungry Brain, and Monday at the Skylark... He'll also perform tonight as part of Aram Shelton's group, Arrive, in a concert at the Hideout.
