This Sunday at Reggie's Music Joint, the nerds take over. But in the world of Nerdcore, the “nerd” is king and queen. In recent years, the hip-hop sub-genre known as Nerdcore has blown up. Artists like MC Front-a-lot, Optimus RhymeMonzy and MC Plus Plus, are just some of the self-described nerds spittin' lyrics about all things “geek.”

Chicago native Dan Lamoureux is the director of the new documentary, Nerdcore for Life, which explorers this subculture. He recently spoke with Eight Forty-Eight's Alison Cuddy.

Nerdcore for Life screens this Sunday at Reggie's Music Joint at 2105 South State Street in Chicago.
