Sorry, seats to the Forum are sold out. WBEZ 91.5 FM will broadcast the Forum live from 6-7pm. The Forum will be available to watch via live stream through all partner Facebook accounts.
On behalf of partners, POLITICO, the University of Chicago’s non-partisan Institute of Politics, and WBEZ Chicago, we are pleased to present a live public forum featuring the 2018 Illinois Democratic gubernatorial candidates discussing their respective visions for the future of our state.
The forum will be moderated by WBEZ Chicago’s Melba Lara with a panel of three reporters: WBEZ’s Dave McKinney and Tony Arnold, and POLITICO's Natasha Korecki.
There will be no opening remarks from the candidates, but each candidate will be given 60 seconds for a closing statement at the end of the live broadcast. The moderator and reporters will pose questions to candidates on a rotating basis.
Reporters and the moderator reserve the right to ask follow up questions. Throughout the broadcast, candidates will also be asked four questions that will have been pre-solicited from members of the public. Following one-minute closing statements and the conclusion of the live broadcast, pre-selected audience members will have the opportunity to pose questions to the candidates. This Q&A portion will last for 30 minutes and will be featured on the live Facebook stream.
*6-7pm broadcast live statewide via Illinois Public Radio and on our various websites/facebook live followed by a livestream-only, audience Q&A session from 7-7:30PM.
