Join WBEZ Chicago, Angelic Organics Learning Center and Green City Market at Cruz Blanca’s Upstairs Taproom for a cocktail-style event featuring food and drink inspired by the flavors of Oaxaca, European brewing traditions of Mexico City, and locally-sourced agriculture of Chicago!

CHANGE is part of every food system, and Chef Rick Bayless has pioneered numerous movements throughout his 40 years in the food industry. Chef Bayless will begin the evening by highlighting the changes to the farm-to-table movement he has helped shepherd into Chicago. Other industry pioneers will join the conversation to highlight how our eating habits have evolved and changed the local food system. Mingle with like-minded guests as you eat and drink your way through the Frontera family’s beautiful new Randolph Street restaurant and brewery.

Each $85 ticket includes appetizers, a 3-course seated dinner, and cocktails, wine & beer provided by Chicago purveyors.

Seasonal menus incorporate ingredients from local farms, and will be posted one week prior to the event. Email us with questions or dietary concerns. Space is limited.

The Come to the Table Dinner Series joins local chefs, farmers, innovators, and food advocates for three seasonal dinners at farm-to-table restaurants in Chicago. Each event includes a custom created farm-to-table menu, beverages, and lively discussion about the intersections of food, agriculture, and community. The series began in 2016 as a vehicle for discussing different food system topics over a shared meal at restaurants that also support sustainable local food & farms. Now in its third season, the series is presented by Angelic Organics Learning Center, Green City Market, and WBEZ 91.5 Chicago. All proceeds benefit the missions and work of the presenting non-profit organizations. Partner restaurants and purveyors are committed to sourcing locally and sustainably whenever possible.

ABOUT THE HOST ORGANIZATIONS:

Angelic Organics Learning Center builds sustainable local food and farm systems. They reach more than 5,000 people annually through farmer training programs, urban agriculture programs, and on-farm workshops, camps, field trips & farm stays. Angelic Organics Learning Center was founded in 1999 as a nonprofit educational partner to Angelic Organics CSA farm. 

Green City Market is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit cultivating a sustainable Chicago food system through vibrant farmers markets, edible education for youth, and fresh food access initiatives. Green City Market's programs increase the availability of quality food, connect local farmers to the community, and promote understanding of how food gets to our plates.
