One Earth, One Chicago Earth Day Film Screenings

Saturday, April 22 @ 2:00pm – 4:00pm
The Adler Planetarium, Pullman National Monument, Clarendon Park, Garfield Park Golden Dome and Jackson Park 1300 S Lake Shore Drive 60605 Chicago , IL

In the spirit of the March for Science, engage in on-screen science. Join the City of Chicago, WBEZ Chicago and One Earth Film Festival for one of the five free film screenings of “The City Dark” in museums and park districts around Chicago. Filmmaker Ian Cheney embarks on a journey to America's brightest and darkest corners, asking astronomers, cancer researchers and ecologists what is lost in the glare of city lights. “The City Dark” provides a fascinating introduction to the science of the dark and an exploration of our relationship to the stars.

The film and a brief post-film program will focus on our human connection to the everyday science of light and our living planet, and explore ways city-dwellers can live in harmony with nature. Some screenings will be followed by sun telescope observations.
