NPR’s comedy quiz show Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me! is one of the most popular shows in public radio and podcasting. On March 31, they will be producing a live event geared towards kids and families in Chicago. Wait Wait Jr. will be all the fun of our weekly news quiz written especially for kids of all ages to play along with their families!
If you’re not familiar with our weekly program, the show revolves around current events through trivia with additional commentary provided by our host Peter Sagal and a panel of three comedians. Every week we also interview a celebrity guest about their work and challenge them to a silly game called “Not My Job.”
The Junior edition of our show will largely follow our standard structure, with some tweaks to the games and content for a younger audience. Our panel will feature three talented comedians from our stable; Maz Jobrani, Paula Poundstone, and Mo Rocca. We will also be joined by a celebrity guest that kids will love, and all of our quiz contestants will be kids!
The live show will be held right here in Chicago on Saturday afternoon, March 31 at The Athenaeum Theatre. Located in the Southport neighborhood, the theater is in an attractive, walkable neighborhood with multiple dinning and shopping opportunities for families to make a day of it.
This event will offer Chicago's youth the lighter side of the news, and bring local families together for a good old-fashioned radio show experience!
