Chicago’s food bank suspends deliveries

Chicago’s main food bank said it has canceled all deliveries Monday amid the unrest in the region. The Greater Chicago Food Depository distributes food to more than 700 food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters in Cook County, according to its website. It distributes more than 170,000 meals every day.

The depository said in a statement that it’s taking the action “out of an abundance of caution for the safety of our employees and our community partners.” The depository said it will resume deliveries as soon as possible.
