This weekend, international travelers will swing through Chicago and not even stop by the Magnificent Mile. What are they doing instead? Learning how to make great radio at the Third Coast International Audio Festival Conference. And for you, the conference means tons of great public events. Head up to Evanston on Saturday for the Awards Ceremony. This is a pretty big deal. It’s kinda like the Independent Spirit Awards; it recognizes that cool, sometimes underground work from those artists you may not know about, but now that you do you’re automatically cooler because you do know. You got all that?!! It’s fun, you’ll hear good radio so get your tickets now! On Sunday, some of the attendees head back to work for Monday, but some stick around for one more great event. Award-winning producer Sara Parker shares Radio Ballads, radio that weaves together personal stories and music. You can catch the show at the Old Town School of Folk Music. So what if you’re not a radio prodcuer (or from Iceland) head to the events because you and everyone else shares love of radio.
