Andrew Bird: Flyin' High

SHARE Andrew Bird: Flyin' High

In Chicago Andrew Bird has been selling out concerts for years, but today it seems the rest of the country has caught up with us- his new album Noble Beast debuted at number 12 on the Billboard Album chart. At WBEZ we’ve been Bird fans for a long time. A quick search of our archives brought up three different Eight Forty-Eight appearances for the whistling violinist, though I’m pretty sure there have been more. Anyhow, now that he’s such a big star I thought you might like to take a listen to how he sounded back in the day. (Also, I should acknowledge that fellow Chicagoan Kanye West is still in the Top 5 on this chart, but you already knew that, didn’t you?)
