There’s been some buzz today about a Wisconsin-based club’s annual award for “lie of the year.”

First there were straight-ahead stories about the Burlington Liars Club giving the “honor” to David Milz of Bristol, Wis., for this line: “I almost had a psychic girlfriend, but she left me before we met.”

Oops. Now, as the Associated Press writes, the stories are about the fact that it’s a line that’s been used before. Comedian Steven Wright generally gets the credit.
