Netflix’s ‘High on the Hog’ features new episode on Chicago food history

The docuseries explores Black foodways and the contributions of Black culture to the American palate and kitchen.

Previously on High on the Hog: Because of the transatlantic slave trade, some of the most American-identified foods have their origins in West African cooking techniques. The latest season of the docuseries continues tracing the development of American food and food culture by examining more recent history: Reconstruction and the Great Migration.

Reset learns more about the history of Black cooking in Chicago.

GUESTS: Erick Williams, owner and executive chef at Virtue Restaurant & Bar
