Chicago Catholics react to new rule allowing priests to bless same-sex couples

Pope Francis writes that even when a person’s relationship with God is clouded by sin, they can always reach out and ask for a blessing.

The Vatican emphasized on Monday that the sacrament of marriage is still a lifelong union between a woman and a man. But, according to new guidance, “irregular” unions should not be denied the right to receive God’s blessing.
