Chicago mayor vows ‘consequences’ after more than 100 people shot over July 4 weekend

Nineteen people were killed during the extended holiday weekend.

Mayor Brandon Johnson vowed there will be “consequences” for this past weekend’s gun violence that killed 19 people and around 100 wounded. CPD will host an emergency assistance center at 1312 Racine Ave for victims on Tuesday afternoon.
