The Illinois House passed a bill to allow concealed weapons that renders local and county gun laws, including Chicago’s assault weapons ban, moot. The move was a response to a federal appeals court ruling that declared Illinois’ ban unconstitutional. The legislation is drawing criticism by Governor Pat Quinn and state Democrats .
