An investigation by the Guardian has revealed details about a Chicago Police Department facility that newspaper calls “an off-the-books interrogation compound.” Sources tell the Guardian that Homan Square, on Chicago’s West Side, is the domestic equivalent of a CIA “black site,” where people who are arrested are secretly detained without access to lawyers for as long as 24 hours.
