Controversy continues over the site for the proposed Obama Presidential Library

The Chicago Park District will soon decide on whether to give the city parcels of land for the proposed Obama Presidential Library. This would go for the South Side site using parts of Jackson or Washington parks. Despite lots of support to bring the Obama library to Chicago, using public park space has generated some controversy. Chicago has two of the four bids in for the Obama Presidential Library. One is from the University of Illinois at Chicago on property the university owns in the North Lawndale neighborhood. The other site that the University of Chicago is facilitating needs public park space. WBEZ’s Yolanda Perdomo joins us with details.
