Studies show eating disorders are on the rise in Jewish communities. Experts say much of this increase is due to the same societal factors that spark problems with anorexia and bulimia in larger society. But there are some cultural and religious factors that contribute to the problem for Jewish women. We bring two local experts in studio, along with another Chicago woman who’s struggled with an eating disorder. They discuss how culture can be challenging when it comes to eating disorders, and also how it can help heal.
