Earlier this week, attorneys for victims of priest sex abuse released 6,000 pages of internal documents that detail a cover-up by the Archdiocese of Chicago. The Afternoon Shift brought in experts to help us make sense of this scandal. They answer questions such as: Why is this happening in the Roman Catholic Church? What impact is it having on the church and on the faithful? What have been the consequences (if any) for top leaders? Our guests include Senior Analyst for the National Catholic Reporter, Father Tom Reese; Managing Editor for U.S. Catholic, Scott Alessi; and Chair of Theology at Loyola University, Dr. Susan Ross. WBEZ’s own Lynette Kalsnes joins the conversation. http://www.wbez.org/news/culture/survivors-lawyers-say-documents-prove-priest-sex-abuse-cover-109557 Photo credit: WBEZ
