August Wilson’s “Two Trains Running” just opened this week at the Goodman Theater. It’s part of an August Wilson celebration at the theatre. The revival is the first production of a Wilson play by the Goodman since the completion of its century cycle in 2007. Like almost all of August Wilson’s century cycle plays, “Two Trains Running” is set in Pittsburgh’s Hill District. However, this play is set in 1969. Characters like Memphis Lee, born in the deep-south, migrated North for better opportunities. Memphis and the other six characters tackle some some powerful issues that are typical of the tumultuous late 60s, and still resonate with equal power today. Joining us is “Two Trains Running director, Chuck Smith, and actor Terry Bellamy who plays Memphis.
