The Discovery Channel’s 27th annual Shark Week is coming a close. This year’s Shark Week has had its highest ratings in history, but many feel the content is declining. Their most popular program this year was “Shark of Darkness,” a program about a fictitious shark terrorizing the shores of South Africa. Roger Germann, Vice President of Great Lakes and Sustainability at Shedd Aquarium, looks at whether Shark Week helps or hurts the animals it glorifies.
