Minimum wage protesters have been picketing outside McDonald’s headquarters in Oak Brook since yesterday ahead of the company’s annual shareholders meeting. During that meeting this morning, there was protest over another issue: The McTeachers program. McDonald’s defends the McTeachers nights as a great way for schools to raise money, since a portion of the proceeds are donated to schools. Here to talk about McTeachers and more is Sriram Madhusoodanan of Corporate Accountability International, an organization that works to stop certain marketing practices at some of the world’s largest food corporations, including those that target children.
