News Round-Up: City pensions, Bank of America lawsuit and endangered buildings

Mayor Rahm Emanuel put forth a proposal to solve part of the city’s pension crisis, and it’s already getting a lot of pushback. WBEZ’s Al Keefe gives us the details. This week, Cook County filed a lawsuit against Bank of America. The suit alleges that Bank of America’s predatory and loose lending has cost the county and taxpayers millions in cleanup and maintenance fees. Crain’s Chicago Business Reporter and WBEZ housing contributor Dennis Rodkin joins us. The preservation group Landmarks Illinois released today its annual list of endangered historic places. Among those on the list include: Camp Algonquin, Uptown Theater, U.S. Marine Hospital and Central Manufacturing District. Bonnie McDonald, president of Landmarks Illinois, joins us to talk about the other buildings that made the list and how they can be preserved.
