The United Church of Christ commissioned a report about environmental justice 27 years ago. That report gave birth to the Faith Leaders for Environmental Justice, a movement that focused on bringing climate, energy and food issues nationwide. Locally, one church has moved to the frontlines to help educate their community on becoming greener and how climate change can impact health and other societal ills. The Reverend Dr. Otis Moss III, senior pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ, a megachurch in Chicago, recently held a “Faith in Place” workshop to help the community become better stewards of the environment and discusses the impact of climate change. He joins us to talk about environmental racism and climate change. Photo Courtesy of Flickr/ PHILIPPE 2009
