The Moth storytelling series takes place tomorrow night at Martyr’s in Chicago. It’s an event that brings storytellers to the stage with the aim of inspiring you to share your own story. The Moth might be among the most famous of these types of events but it’s certainly not the only one. 2nd Story is a monthly event that we’ve recently partnered up with. Earlier this month, we shared a story about how a communication breakdown caused writer CP Chang and his father to go head-to-head.

We asked you to share a second story about communication. Many of you obliged and one of your stories was read at the 2nd Story performance at Webster Wine Bar on Oct. 11. Here’s Jessica McCloud’s story, as read by 2nd Story ensemble member, Nick Ward.
