Over the past two months, three uniformed Chicago police officers have been gunned down and killed. The brazen crimes that over the past few years have taken the lives of children, the elderly and now police officers has driven us to visit impacted communities to gauge reaction and try to make sense of the violence. That’s what happened this week when we gathered community leaders at our South Side Englewood bureau following the death of 62-year-old police officer Michael Bailey.
