A Tour of Burnham's Chicago

Today, we're kicking off the 19th annual Chicago Matters series with a show devoted to exploring how our region can thrive in a global era. One hundred years ago, the Burnham Plan did much to shape Chicago and the region as we know it today. But where do we go from here? Chicago Matters will explore the political, social and environmental questions important to our future place in the world. We look back to how Chicago became the city it is today.

Greg Dreicer is the vice president of exhibitions and programs for the Chicago Architecture Foundation. He says Daniel Burnham had no small plans.
