On Thursday, NFL owners and players concluded three days of secret meetings not far from Chicago. The NFL was in an appellate court on Friday to make the case for the league’s current lockout.

Owners and players have been at odds since March, after collective bargaining talks collapsed. Many hope the not so secret meetings signal an end to their dispute.
