An Unlikely Friendship with Dan Rostenkowski

For decades, Dan Rostenkowski was one of the most powerful men in Washington. So it would seem odd that this political giant would strike up a late-in-life friendship with a young, overweight alcoholic who had just hit rock bottom. But that's exactly what happened. The story, "A Friendship in Winter", is laid out in the latest issue of Chicago Magazine, and its author Bryan Smith talks more about it.
