Ancient Mythology Drives Dance Performances

In three upcoming dance performances, ancient mythology drives the plot. Each dance presents epic stories of gods and separated lovers. But they also give these ancient Greek tales a modern and multicultural update.

The Merchants of Bollywood makes its North American debut tomorrow at Chicago's Auditorium Theatre. Innervation's Gods, Monsters and Heroes kicks off its five-day run at Theater Wit in Chicago next Wednesday. And you can catch Natya Dance Theater's performance of Ravel's Daphnis et Chloe with the DuPage Symphony Orchestra next Saturday in Naperville.

Eight Forty-Eight's dance critic Lucia Mauro gives a preview.
