Andrea Lyon Recounts Her Time as a Death Penalty Lawyer

Andrea Lyon knows the ins and outs of our judicial system well. As a Cook County Public Defender she represented hundreds of people accused of murder. But Lyon earned her reputation, and her nickname, "the Angel of Death Row" – for her work on capital cases. In 19 cases she represented people facing the ultimate punishment – death. And she won all nineteen times. She has a new book out detailing her life as a death penalty defense lawyer called Angel of Death Row: My Life as Death Penalty Defense Lawyer. She's also a Professor of Law at DePaul University and directs the Center for Justice in Capital Cases.
