When President Barack Obama took the White House in 2008, it was a historic victory. Also unprecedented was the amount of money he raised during his campaign. There’s one Chicagoan who takes a lot of the credit for Obama’s financial windfall. Louis Susman was one of the President’s leading fundraisers. He is now the U.S. Ambassador to Britain. His appointment caused writer Carol Felsenthal to raise an eyebrow. She profiled Mr. Susman in an article called “Our Man in London,” which appears in the latest issue of Chicago magazine. Richard Steele recently sat down with Carol Felsenthal who sums up Susman’s power in his nickname.
