On Chicago’s Northwest Side nestled in the multi-ethnic neighborhood of Albany Park lives The Albany Park Theater Project. APTP, as the youth ensemble is known, creates original works of theater that tell the stories of urban teens immigrants and working-class Americans. For the past year, the group’s been working on their latest—Feast. Now, APTP is bringing the stories they collected to the stage where Feast examines the importance of food in society. Eight Forty-Eight’s Eilee Heikenen-Weiss recently talked to a few of the people involved in the show including 17-year-old David Gauna who shares how personal details were incorporated into the production.
