A new exhibit opening this weekend explores how architects will develop the Windy City with their imaginations. Big. Bold. Visionary: Chicago Considers the Next Century presents ideas for the city and region. The show features big plans – some within reach, like a high-speed rail system. And some are still pretty out there – like a massive eco-bridge on our lakefront. Architecture critic Ed Keegan is the exhibition’s curator and he tells us more about it. Tomorrow’s opening of Big Bold Visionary just happens to coincide with the 163rd anniversary of Daniel Burnham’s birth. And, today would have been architect Louis Sullivan’s 153rd birthday.
