In her new young adult novel, local author Fern Schumer Chapman examines a little known history of the Holocaust. The One Thousand Children Project rescued Jewish children from the Nazis. Schumer Chapman's story centers on one 12-year-old girls' escape from early Nazi Germany, which comes with devastating consequences. Eight Forty-Eight book critic Donna Seaman brings us this interview.
