Those friends and family members who are no longer here anymore are always in our hearts.  But when big political news breaks, or around election time, it’s especially difficult not to miss pal and colleague Carlos Hernandez Gomez.  

Thursday, FitzGerald’s in Berwyn is hosting the second annual Concert for Carlos.

The concert (for Carlos) will include music from Material ReIssue, which features former members of the local power-pop band Material Issue, plus Phil Agnotti Band, Eric Howell’s Greatest Hitch and The New Fiction-featuring members of Carlos’ band The Gear. 

In addition to the music, there will be a silent auction and the emcee for the night is Andy Shaw of the Better Government Association. Money from the show and the auction will fund the Carlos Hernandez Award in Journalism at DePaul University.  The award provides financial assistance to talented undergrads.
