Every month WBEZ education reporter Linda Lutton joins Eight Forty-Eight for Cheat Sheet - the quick and dirty guide to Chicago’s Board of Education meetings.

The good-byes began last month, but there were more farewells at Wednesday’s board meeting. Board members also got a going away present: boxes of Kellogg’s Chocolate Mini-Wheats (Even when it’s cold, breakfast is hot.) What does it mean when the South Shore campus of Urban Prep moves to Bronzeville? And the East Garfield Park campus is actually on the Near West Side? Many say it’s time for a long-term facilities plan.

It was a marathon meeting, lasting nearly seven hours from start to finish. WBEZ’s Education Reporter Linda Lutton was there, and joined Eight Forty-Eight with the highlights.
