Checking In on Indiana Politics

The latest polls show that Democrat Alexi Giannoulias and Republican Mark Kirk are neck and neck in the race for Illinois' Senate Seat. Kirk just got a financial boost, to the tune of $3.4 million, from the National Republican Senatorial Committee. That's according to a recent report in Politico. But that's not the only local Senate race national Republicans are watching. The GOP also hopes to win back the seat now held by the retiring Democrat Evan Bayh of Indiana. It could be pivotal in their efforts to take control of Congress. The Grand Old Party has even sent in political heavyweights like Karl Rove to raise funds in the Hoosier state. WBEZ's Northwest Indiana reporter Michael Puente tells us which Indiana races are heating up.
