Chicago Cop Pens Novel About Struggles to Become a Writer

It's not just increased media scrutiny that follows Chicago Police. Life as a cop means becoming all too intimate with crime, violence and death. And the streets that officers are meant to protect can also be filled with distrusting citizens. Martin Preib confronts these issues in his book The Wagon: And Other Stories From the City. And he would know. He's a Chicago beat cop. Preib sat down with host Alison Cuddy earlier this summer to discuss the book.
