'Chicago Tribune' gets a facelift in print and online

On Wednesday, the Chicago Tribune unveiled a new expanded print version. Its online readers saw a new layout earlier this week.

The Tribune Company has undergone a lot of change in recent years: from new ownership to filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Their last big paper redesign was back in the fall of 2008. So what does the new look signal about the future of the paper?

To learn more about the meaning behind the latest re-design Eight Forty-Eight turned to Susan Mango Curtis. Curtis teaches at the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University and specializes in visual journalism.
